Summer Fun In Traverse City
Perched at the end of deep blue Grand Traverse Bay and blessed with over 150 clear inland lakes and rivers, Traverse City is an outdoor recreation paradise. Just for starters, there’s swimming, sailing, boating, fishing, cycling, hiking, canoeing and kayaking. And don’t forget to see the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, a breathtaking 64-mile symphony of water, sky and towering 400-foot sand dunes on the west coast of the Leelanau Peninsula.

Over 20 winery tasting rooms are open and eager to show off their vintages.
There’s always something to do at night, whether it’s an evening of jazz in a local restaurant, a night baseball game with the Traverse City Beach Bums, gaming at the Turtle Creek and Leelanau Sands Casinos, or a concert at the renowned Interlochen Center for the Arts.
Traverse City is full of entertaining museums. For art lovers there’s the Dennos Museum Center at Northwestern Michigan College, while history buffs will enjoy the Sleeping Bear Point Maritime Museum, the Grand Traverse Lighthouse Museum and the unique Music House Museum.
