Visitor Center & Education Foundation

An excellent place to begin any Traverse City adventure is the Traverse City Visitor Center at the corner of Grandview Parkway and Union Streets. Operated by the Traverse City Convention & Visitors Bureau Education Foundation, the visitor center offers information on area sights and activities, lodging and restaurants. It's a personal, one-on-one service with volunteers manning the desk to answer visitors' questions. For those who would like to have printed information, scores of relevant brochures are available.

Visitor Center Hours

All year long the visitor center features exhibits that bring into colorful, three-dimensional focus the area's arts and cultural scene, history, environment and special events. For the visitors' convenience the center houses public restrooms and telephones. There is free, short-term parking onsite, and on weekends parking in the municipal lot across Union Street. The visitor center is also home to the offices of the Traverse City Convention & Visitors Bureau. Visitor center hours are: Memorial Day through Mid-October 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturday Closed Sunday |
